WinX Free DVD to 3GP Ripper is a free DVD ripper for Windows. Although 3GP is the format mentioned on the application's title, this ripper can encode files using both 3GP and MPEG-4. Being the free ripper that it is, you won't see any advanced features, but it has all that you need for a basic ripping operation. You can select audio and subtitle tracks to encode your files. In the case of subtitles, when you select one, it will be hard-coded onto the video. This allows you to play video files with subtitles on any device, but you can't ever disable them. It is a fair trade-off in my opinion.
The design of this application is very basic and intuitive. You see a list of available DVD titles when you load either a DVD disk or a folder on your computer. You can assign a format to each title by selecting the title and changing the format at the bottom of the screen.
In terms of performance, WinX Free DVD to 3GP is on par with other solutions both in terms of speed and conversion quality. Remember to turn down the volume bar during conversion if you experience bad audio quality.
